Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is planned to receive six characters as DLC (five of which will come included in the Fighter's Pass) and it seems we now know when the first of these new characters, that of Pirahna Plant, should be arriving.

Announced via an in-game update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate today, it was divulged that Nintendo plans to release Pirahna Plant at some point next month in February. This release window isn't firm as of yet and things could absolutely still change, but this is the first we've actually heard when it comes to a timeframe for the character's release other than simply "a few months after launch."

As a reminder, Pirahna Plant will be a free DLC fighter for those that purchased Super Smash Bros. Ultimate prior to January 31, 2019. If you purchased the game physically, you'll have to claim your My Nintendo Gold Points manually before this date in order to get Pirahna Plant. Those who bought the game digitally should have had this done automatically and will need to take further action.

If Nintendo does intend to release this fighting plant next month, you'd imagine we'll hear more specific details quite soon. Joker on the other hand, the second announced DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, still has no release window as of this writing, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to learn more about the Persona 5 protagonist's arrival.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review of the game right now if you haven't done so already.
