Ever since the game launched in December 2018, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has only grown more and more extensive. From including fan favorite characters like Persona 5's Joker and Banjo-Kazooie to even more DLC characters on the way, Ultimate truly has earned its name by encompassing a ton of different franchises from both Nintendo and gaming as a whole. The evolving Spirit Board has given Nintendo the chance to include some surprising and unusual characters from other franchises, with the next Spirit Board event to get players in shape with Ring Fit Adventure.Nintendo has revealed that the next Spirit Board challenge for players in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting physical, with the help of the cast of Ring Fit Adventure. The event will run from today through March 18, and give players the chance to earn three new Spirits: Ring, Dragaux, and the Ring Fit Trainers.

Given their inclusion as Spirit Board characters, it seems unlikely that any of the characters from Ring Fit Adventure will end up making their way into the playable roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. So, at least for now, it seems like the Wii Fit Trainer won't have much competition and will still tell us the best ways to stretch our quads and how to salute the sun.

In terms of other Smash Bros. news, most recently the fifth and final DLC character for the game's first Fighters Pass was revealed to be Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Nintendo also revealed that another Fighters Pass is currently in development with six additional DLC fighters, which are all expected to be released by the end of 2021.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Ring Fit Adventure are both available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
