In addition to a Splatoon-themed Maximus Cup in Tetris 99, a Splatoon-themed Spirit Board is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Both events are in honor of the final Splatfest coming to Splatoon 2 from July 18-21.

For the Smash Bros. Spirit Board, several Splatoon characters will appear every hour, including the famous Squid Sisters. For each time you battle a Splatoon character, you earn twice as many Spirit Points as usual. Other Spirit Board events have taken place in the past such as one dedicated to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

As for the final Splatoon 2 Splatfest, this one is apocalypse-themed. Players can choose whether they'd like to live in a world ruled by order or chaos. During the first two days of the Splatfest, all 23 Shifty Station stages will be available. Additionally, a new Shifty Station will make an appearance during the final day of the Splatfest which features Pearl and Marina.

Lastly, Splatoon 2 will receive patch 5.0 in late July that'll be the final update added to the game. A new private game mode called Splatfest Turf War will be included which lets players play on any of the 24 Shifty Stations as they appeared in the Splatfests.

Previously, Splatoon 2 has had Splatfests that ask the age old question of time travel vs teleportation, pancakes vs waffles, and family vs friends. Safe to say it'll be the end of an era for Splatoon 2 fans.

Splatoon 2, Tetris 99, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are all available for the Nintendo Switch now.
