With its release last December, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate truly lived up to its name by giving series fans the ultimate package of everything Smash Bros., and now it appears that one of the franchise's previous features may be coming to Ultimate in the not-too-far future.

In a new TV commercial released for the Switch and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by Nintendo, the very beginning of the video managed to give a glimpse at what might be the return of the Stage Builder mode to Ultimate down the line, as the video showed one of the in-game menus with the icon for Stage Builder in the lower right-hand corner.

As its name implies, Stage Builder--which was first introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Nintendo Wii--allows players to create and share their very own Smash Bros. stages. While its return in Ultimate shouldn't come as too much of a surprise after having appeared in the previous two Smash Bros. titles, the exact question of when the mode is coming is up in the air.

With the next major update to arrive for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the near future, likely alongside the anticipated introduction of Persona 5's Joker to the playable character roster, it wouldn't be too hard to imagine that Stage Builder may be introduced in the next major update. Given that it managed to pop up in a TV commercial, it (hopefully) will be sooner rather than later.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now on Nintendo Switch. For a closer look, you can check out the new commercial below:
