Originally released earlier this year on PC and Xbox One, the slow-mo shooter Superhot quickly became a sleeper hit with its unique take on first-person shooter mechanics, and now those that want to get superhotter will be able to enjoy new content for the game this year, along with the game in a whole new perspective exclusively on Oculus Rift.

In an update from developer Superhot Team, the studio revealed some of the future plans for the title (since its debut this past February), with the studio currently at work on "two large separate projects and a swatch of smaller updates."

The first of these projects includes free DLC for current owners of Superhot, which will "introduce new levels, game mechanics" and "new ways to immerse yourself into more Superhot." While specifics of these items and mechanics weren't revealed, the studio teased that the free DLC will provide players with the original Superhot experience but "with a cool new twist."

The studio's second major project is a newly-announced VR-compatible version of the title, called Superhot VR, that will debut later this year as an exclusive for Oculus Rift. No specifics on a release date or new features have been revealed just yet, though the team explained that "we're really trying to capitalize on all of the new design possibilities that Virtual Reality is giving us," and citing "the level of game immersion" as one of the key elements that Superhot VR will capitalize on with the new version.

Superhot is currently available on PC, Mac, Linux, and Xbox One, with Superhot VR to release exclusively on Oculus Rift later this year.
