The second season of Superman and Lois recently concluded after giving us fifteen spectacular episodes. Developed by Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti, the American superhero introduces us to Clark Kent and Lois Lane's sons, Jonathan and Jordan. CW announced the standalone series in 2019 and premiered the first season in February 2021.

Compared to other Arrowverse shows, Superman & Lois features a darker and more grounded tone without compromising on the action sequences. Of course, the community loved what the first season had to offer, so the network renewed the series for Season 2 last year in March, which came out in January 2022.

Similar to Season 1, the second season also featured 15 episodes; however, the latest season went through multiple hiatus because of COVID-19 restrictions. CW completed the season with the release of the final episode on June 28th, 2022. Now, every DC fan who loved Superman & Lois is wondering if the CW superhero series would get a third season. Well, you'd be delighted to know that CW renewed the Tv show for a third season in March 2022.

The network announced Season 3 of Superman & Lois on Variety, but there's no exact release date for the next season. If we look at Superman and Lois' previous timeline, it's safe to assume that Season 3 will come out sometime in Early 2023.

While we don't know much about Season 3's plot, Tom Cavanagh confirmed that he'll direct the premiere episode of the 2023 season. For the unacquainted, Cavanagh plays Reverse-Flash in another CW DC show, The Flash.

Cavanagh previously directed Superman & Lois Season 1 finale, "Last sons of Krypton," and the actor confirmed in an interview with the TV insider that he'd be back to lead another episode of the Tv show. According to Cavanagh, Superman & Lois has the "advantage of the anamorphic lenses and that visual richness. So for a director, it's just such a joy to go there and have those tools at your disposal."

Superman & Lois isn't the only CW show that got an early renewal. Interestingly, The Flash Tv show will also return with the ninth season in 2023, so these two DC shows are definitely doing exceptionally well for the network.
