We’ve already had one surprise announcement today (Sword Coast Legends coming this year,) yet we’ve another bit of a unexpected news: Super Stardust developer Housemarque are teaming up with veteran developer Eugene Jarvis to make a brad new game.

Who’s Eugene Jarvis? He’s the chap who brought players Smash TV, Defender and the classic arcade title Robotron: 2084.

The team at Housemarque are understandably excited as they describe it as working with one of their heroes, but they’re not the only ones pleased at the new partnership as Eugene Jarvis is a big fan of the studio and their works himself.

When I saw RESOGUN I couldn’t believe how these Housemarque guys took Defender to a new level. I wondered… what would happen if we teamed up? Mash up old school arcade with mad voxel tech and crazed nouveau Helsinki gamers… All I know now is that it is going to be explosive”.

Both parties are remaining tight-lipped a the moment, but they’ve promised more information on the new game in the coming months.
