Gust and Koei Tecmo published a new trailer for the Surge Concerto series, ultimately revealing Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX together as Surge Concerto DX. Release date and platforms haven't been announced yet.

Gust and Koei Tecmo have recently remastered the Atelier Arland Trilogy and the Atelier Dusk Trilogy. Each game was renamed similarly and released as a pack on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. As such, it's highly likely Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX will be releasing on the same platforms.

Surge Concerto DX: Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX Teaser Trailer

Ciel nosurge first launched on April 26, 2012 on PlayStation Vita. Long story short it's a JRPG about repairing the memories of mysterious amnesic girl Ion. To reinforce immersion, the game required an online connection to be played as players would connect to Ion from another world. A final version with all DLC, bonus content and playable offline, Ciel nosurge Offline, was released in Japan on October 3, 2014, on PS Vita. Ciel nosurge DX will be based on this one.

Ar nosurge is Ciel nosurge's sequel, first launched on PS3 on March 6, 2014. A Plus version launched on October 2, 2014 on PS Vita, and Ar nosurge DX will be based on this version.

Surge Concerto DX new goods

While both Surge Concerto games can be enjoyed without having played Ar tonelico, another JRPG series by Gust, they take place in the same universe. Ciel nosurge started the Surge Concerto series, which Ar nosurge is also part of. The Ar tonelico series and the Surge Concerto series form together the EXA_PICO Universe. Besides the shared universe, one of the main common theme between both is singing and music.

The recognizable character design and artwork of the Surge Concerto series is by ntny, who later did the chara design on Gemdrops and FuRyu's Action JRPG Crystar.
