Today, American indie developer Survios announced that it would be entering a new market for to provide VR entertainment to the public. In the form of a VR arcade (aka VRCade), which will allow consumers who cannot afford premium VR technology to experience a slew of virtual reality games and environments with premium VR technology.
According to the press release, Survios' first VRCade location will open up at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California. With the location's opening weekend to begin today at 4 p.m. PST. Survios also revealed that arcade would be open seven days a week from 12pm-11pm PST Sunday's through Thursday's and 12pm-12am PST Friday's and Saturday's.
VR enthusiasts from all walks of life can choose among fifteen different games in the Survios collection to play in the 8 VR bays, which contain high-end VR headsets and controller, including the frontrunner in gaming VR headsets, the HTC Vive.
Each of the VR setups will track players’ hands, heads, and upper body movements in real time to provide a fully immersive gameplay experience, unlike anything you could ever experience in a standard arcade. Several notable games, which will be playable in the VRCade includes Survios' critically-acclaimed VR shooter Raw Data, as well as its recently-released adrenaline-fueled, fast-paced platformer Sprint Vector just to name a few. Of course, other critically-acclaimed VR titles from other developers will also be available as well.
