One of the more wacky titles to come out of last year's E3 was the 3DS title Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. That being said, we have not heard much about the title since. We finally heard more about the game during today's Nintendo Direct, as a Nintendo Switch version of the game was confirmed, with both versions receiving a June 8 release date.

For those of you who don't know, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido takes place in a world where Sushi is outlawed. Still, that doesn't stop protagonist Musashi (not of the Brave Fencer kind) from fighting the evil empire in unique conveyor belt sushi battles. Gameplay consists of players building up combos, as they eat multiple plates of sushi in a row, only to then throw the plates at their opponents.

Players can also use Sushi Sprites for help in battle. During the Direct, it was also revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of the game would include online multiplayer. It is currently unknown if the 3DS version has this feature.

You can check out some screenshots of the game alongside its portion of the Direct below. Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is currently poised to release on both Nintendo Switch and 3DS on June 8.
