Niantic is seemingly starting to ramp things up a little bit with the upcoming Pokemon GO Community Days.

While Swablu may not seem to be the most exciting choice, a brand new move for Altaria is sure to make a splash in PVP, plus there's the release of Mega Altaria.

Following May, Niantic has confirmed that June's Community Day will be even bigger and will focus on the much-requested Gible.

Before we do get to June, however, we still have May's to come, so here are all the details you need to know about the Swablu Community Day.

Start Time and Date

It will come as no surprise that the Swablu Community Day will run from 11 am - 5 pm local time, as this has now become the set time for these events.

In terms of date, players will start encountering an abundance of Swablu on Saturday, May 15.

There is a little extension to this month's Community Day, however, as following the end of the event, Mega Altaria will make its debut in Pokemon GO Raids.

Shiny Swablu Details

For some, Swablu Community Day will be a bit of a disappointment. The Cotton-Winged Bird Pokemon's Shiny form has been available since February 2018, and therefore a fairly hefty percentage of players have encountered the Pokemon.

For those who have been fortunate enough, or unfortunate enough depending on which way you look at it, to not capture one, you're in for a treat.

Shiny Swablu and Altaria trade their pale blue bodies for a much more striking golden colour.

Swablu Community Day Features

As always, May's Pokemon GO Community Day will come packed with features. They are as follows:

  • Increased Shiny Rate for Swablu
  • 1/4 Hatch Distance
  • 3 Hour Incense
  • Altaria Exclusive Moonblast Community Day Move
  • Cotton-Winged Bird Special Research
  • Mega Altaria Raids

Currently, the details for the research have yet to come out, however, we'll be sure to update this post when they do.
