The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is by and large a family favorite title, captivating players of all ages with expansive worlds and brain-teasing puzzles. In fact, Breath of the Wild has become a champion of open-world adventures, perfectly capturing the spirit of discovery.
With a game world full of charming characters and endless tricks (shield surfing anyone?), it's easy to get lost in the details. It's no surprise, then, that players turn to game guides for help. While companies like Nintendo may no longer be publishing print game guides á la Super Mario Sunshine, players are able to make use of other resources (like DualShockers' own guides) to get all the info they need.
One young Zelda fan in particular turned to YouTube to create their own version of a comprehensive BOTW game guide.

Redditor u/mxzebrax first posted this story to the r/gaming subreddit, sharing a sweet moment of their 9-year-old BOTW player. Taking advantage of the wealth of information on YouTube, the young gamer wrote a list of notes to help them succeed in the game:
Covering anything from windbombing to bullet time bounce glitches, this Zelda fan has crafted their own essential game guide. The stapled-together booklet holds a horde of carefully gathered information, making it wholly unique to the player's experiences. It's fascinating to see what this young Zelda fan focused on. The range of info from the number of shrines to funky glitches reveals how freeing BOTW can really be.
Finally, Redditor u/mxzebrax adds that the list reminded them of their own time as young player: "Reminds me of when I was a kid copying notes from the guide at the store!" It seems that some things stay the same, no matter the era!
