Deadly Premonition Creator SWERY Announces New Game "The Missing" Published by Arc System Works

Hidetaka "SWERY65" Suehiro is working on a brand new game titled The Missing, which will be published by Arc System Works.

Today Arc System Works announced that it’ll publish a brand new game by Hidetaka “SWERY65” Suehiro titled “The Missing”.

The game will be developed by SWERY’s own studio White Owls, which he announced just a bit more than a year ago.

SWERY is well known on among Japanese indie developers for creating cult games like Deadly Premonition and Dark Dreams Don’t Die (D4).

Not much else is known about the new game besides the fact that it’ll launch in 2018, and platforms are unknown. We do get a video with the developer himself as he briefly talks about the game (without saying much in terms of concrete information), mentioning that he is enjoying the creative freedom he has on this game, with Arc System Works’ support, while the publisher allows him to pursue his vision without restrictions.

That being said, SWERY does say that this new game will “blow our mind” and he is confident that it’ll exceed our expectations.

The title and imagery seems to indicate a game similar in tone to Deadly Premonition and Dark Dreams Don’t Die, but this is just my speculation. You can check out the video below, and post your theories in the comments.
