The Nintendo Switch Was The Best-Selling Hardware Platform in September
The Nintendo Switch also remains the best-selling piece of hardware for the year.
To no surprise, the Nintendo Switch has gone on to become the best-selling piece of hardware for the month of September and remains as the best-selling platform for 2019.
Mat Piscatella, an industry analyst for the NPD Group, shared the news over on his Twitter account like he often does.
US NPD HW – Nintendo Switch was again the best-selling hardware platform of September and remains the best-selling platform of 2019.

It is not surprising that the Switch specifically sold well in the month of September. The month saw the release of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening as well as the launch of the new Nintendo Switch Lite, a smaller, portable only iteration of the console that only costs $199. The two releases coinciding make the month a perfect opportunity to rake in the dough.
What I am interested in now is what the Black Friday sales are going to look like this holiday season. Fall is now upon us and this holiday will be the last for this console generation. What kind of price drops are we going to see this time around? Will Nintendo drop the Switch Lite down to $150 for Black Friday? Will the PS4 Slim bundle drop down to $150 as well? It will definitely be a season of savings this holiday season now that the console generation is coming to a close.
