Today Bandai Namco Entertainment released a large batch of screenshots of its upcoming third-person shooter/JRPG hybrid Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet.

The assets focus mostly on ArFA-Sys, a Type-X humanoid Android that was on board of a crashes spaceship named SBC Flugel. It’s equipped with advanced AI and extremely rare, able to perform various support roles.

Since it cannot be more powerful than its masters (like most MMORPG pets), and the player is a newbie, initially ArFA-Sys is nearly useless, but as the main hero progresses, it can become very powerful. Its appearance and gender can be customized by the player.

Interestingly, the main story includes a quest that cannot be completed without  ArFA-Sys, and that will force the hero and his AI companion to make a certain “choice.”

In the gallery at the bottom of the post, you can see ways in which  ArFA-Sys can be customized. It will automatically deposit earnings in the fund management system, and can even increase them by investing. You can set the percentages of money that will be stored and invested.

You can also select the android’s behavior in battle, for instance focusing on combat or healing. Other elements that can be customized are the color of clothes and emotional response settings.

We also get to see a few weapons, including submachine guns, gatlings, and grenade launchers. A few skills showcased are Quick Shot, Gunsting, and Horizontal Slash for attack. Shield Matrix and Healing Area for support, and Blaze, Poison Gas Bomb and Gravitational Field for debuffs.

Gadgets include frag grenades, smoke grenades, and emergency treatment kits.
