During the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival 2017 currently being hosted in Akihabara, Tokyo, Bandai Namco Entertainment provided more details about its VR project Sword Art Online: Replication, that was announced around Tokyo Game Show.

First of all, we see the key art, more sketches of the hero and heroine, and the first work-in-progress 3D models.

We learn that the player will take the role of a new hero, and will meet the heroine named Mist in the world of Aincrad, during the first series, when the death game is still active.

The objective of the game is to protect Mist with your life, while surviving various obstacles and hardships.

The game will be available for testing at Tokyo Skytree City between December 8th and December 10th, and the experience lasts about fifteen minutes.

At the moment, the full nature of the title is still unknown, but it’s unlikely that it’ll be a console game, given the location test, and the the fact that recruitment is done among 5G users in collaboration with NTT Docomo.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
