Sword Art Online Virtual Reality Project by IBM Gets New Video, Shows Gameplay

Remember the Sword Art Online virtual reality project sponsored by IBM  “Sword Art Online The Beginning?” It turned out more real than many alleged, and today they released a video.

The video, that you can see below, illustrates the technological possibilities of the project, and more importantly, shows gameplay.

If you’re wondering why characters look quite bad, it’s because they were created on the fly via a rough body scanning project, like in the anime.

It’s not very likely that this will turn into an actual commercial game (even because the license is still firmly in the hands of Bandai Namco), but it’s certainly an interesting outlook on the future.
