Microids' adventure franchise Syberia is back with a brand-new episode, titled Syberia: The World Before. As usual with Syberia games, players will follow Kate Walker in a new investigation, mixing puzzle elements and point and click elements.

Syberia: The World Before's journey will feature multiple continents and time-periods, all linked to the periods of strife and tragedies of the 20th century. This new Syberia will also feature its share of Automatons and eccentric characters. Fans of the franchise will feel right at home. Meanwhile, newcomers will get a good taste of Kate Walker's adventures, Syberia's puzzles, and its enigmatic atmosphere.

Art director Benoît Sokal is back on this new episode. He mentioned Syberia: The World Before will have even more Automatons to control and puzzles to solve. Microids' vice-president Elliot Grassiano most notably mentioned Syberia: The World Before will have an atmosphere similar to the first games in the series.

Microids also shared that Syberia: The World Before has been in development for 18 months now. Additional info like platforms, release date, and the game's first screenshots will be coming soon. For now, a single artwork was published. You can find it below.

The latest game in the series, Syberia 3, is available on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Mac. Seeing it's a point and click, Syberia: The World Before will inherently release on PC and Mac again. Then it should probably come to the other current platforms as well.
