Sylveon is by far one of the most popular Eevee evolutions in the whole world of Pokemon, and Pokemon GO is no different.

As soon as it was released into the game back in May, it made great strides in the PVP meta, now, with the latest Community Day, Sylveon has received a brand new move that looks set to shake things up.

So, with that new move in mind, let's look at the max CP of Sylveon, plus its best moveset and its relevance in the PVP meta.

Sylveon Max CP and Other Details

As Sylveon is a pure Fairy-type Pokemon, it has two major weaknesses - Poison and Steel-type moves.

However, while it has two big weaknesses, Sylveon has some even bigger resistances, with Dragon-type moves doing only 40% damage and Bug, Dark and Fighting-types also reduced.

As you may expect, the Intertwining Pokemon doesn't have close to the highest max CP in the game, however, its numbers are still respectable.

At level 40, Sylveon has a max CP of 3069 and when powered up to level 50 using XL Candies, Sylveon's max CP jumps to 3470.

Sylveon Best Moveset

Sylveon has some really nice coverage with its best moveset, incorporating two powerful Fairy-type moves with its Community Day featured move.

You can see its best moveset below:

  • Charm - Fast Move
  • Moonblast or Dazzling Gleam - Charge Move
  • Psyshock - Charge Move

Is Sylveon Still Good After Its New Community Day Move?

The simple answer is yes.

Sylveon has what it takes to make its mark across all three of the major GO Battle Leagues.

Great League is still the area in which Sylveon is likely to be at its weakest. Although, since it receives its new move, it moves from being the 113th best Pokemon in the division to the 95th according to PVPoke.

Its biggest downfalls are the fact it loses to some of the league's biggest players including Azumarill, Galarian Stunfisk and Swampert. It's also outclassed by a range of other Fairy-types including Clefable, Granbull, Slurpuff and Aromatisse here, however, is still a decent niche pick.

Moving onto the Ultra League and Sylveon starts to build up steam jumping from the 65th best pick to the 28th best pick in the league.

Initially, it fell behind Clefable XL, Granbull XL and Aromatisse XL in terms of Fairy Pokemon but with its new move, it's been propelled forward beating some major competitors including Giratina, Obstagoon and Gyarados.

The Master League is where the Fairy-type Pokemon really shines, due to the abundance of strong Dragon-type Pokemon.

Sylveon still falls behind Togekiss, however, is still the 29th best Pokemon in the division.

It picks up big wins against the following Pokemon (Overall ranking in brackets):

  • Dialga (3rd)
  • Yveltal (4th)
  • Zekrom (6th)
  • Giratina (17th)
  • Palkia (22nd)
  • Dragonite (23rd)
  • Gyarados (25th)
  • Garchomp (34th)

So, although Sylveon was good before, with the addition of Psyshock, it's now even better!
