Degica Games announced that Maoto Nishikawa’s musical visual novel Symphonic Rain will receive an HD remaster set to release on Steam on June 14.

Originally released in 2004 in Japan, Symphonic Rain fuses rhythm-based mechanics and visual novel story telling into one adventure game. Additionally, the game has multiple endings based on the player’s choices and performance throughout the story.

The HD remastered version will have all the 100+ picture modified and updated by the original character designer, Shiro.

The publisher details the game’s premise:

The setting is the city of music and endless rain—Piova. Play as Chris Vertin, a student of the Piova Communal School of Music, as he prepares for his final examination in which he has to play the magic instrument, the Fortelle, with a vocal partner. When the sound of Chris’s playing harmonizes with the voice of the musical magic fairy that lives in his room, who knows what might happen?
