If there is one third-party franchise that is literally perfect for the Nintendo Switch, that would be Taiko Drum Master. Today Bandai Namco announced the Japanese release date of Taiko Drum Master Nintendo Switch ~ Jon!

The game will hit the local shelves on July 19th, and it will cost 6,100 yen plus taxes both at retail and in digital download.

It’ll get two guest characters: Kirby, and the Squid from Splatoon 2. It will also introduce a couple of new minigames. “Everyone Banzai!” will ask players to syncronize their motions as they cheer. Homerun batter will prompt them to swing and hit the ball following the rhythm, which will also indicate when a curveball will come.

Below you can check out some screenshots showing the new party minigames and the guest characters, alongside a trailer.

At the moment there is no mention or announcement for a western release. We’ll have to see if something is shared down the line by Bandai Namco.
