Are you ready to call yourself "The Hero of Time?"

If you're looking for a new challenge to take on with the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Nintendo may have just the thing to keep your sword ready and your mind even sharper. Ahead of the game's release this coming fall, Nintendo has released a new trailer for the game that highlights "Hero Mode," a new addition that is selectable right from the beginning when you start a new game. Hero Mode will up the challenge a bit for veterans of the original Wind Waker by having enemies that will do twice the damage that they normally would, and on top of that recovery hearts will not be available anywhere in the game's many pots or bushes (forcing you to rely on potions or other sources of health recovery)...yikes!

No worries, though: Hero Mode is completely optional, but if you want the extra challenge, you can check out the new trailer below:

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will release on the Wii U this coming fall: the digital version on Nintendo eShop will release on September 20th, followed shortly after by a retail copy on October 4th. The game will also be included in the recently-confirmed new Wii U bundle from Nintendo that includes a digital copy of the game, which also releases on September 20th.
