Yesterday, game artist and animator Matt Petrak relaunched a Kickstarter campaign for Tala, a puzzle point-and-click game that combines traditional animation techniques with nature photography that Petrak took himself. In its first day, the game has already raised over $3,000 of its $11,3111 goal.

Tala is about a forest spirit who hasn't found her place in the woodland she calls home.  When the Town Guardian is away to find food for the upcoming winter, Tala is in charge of making sure the townsfolk stay out of trouble. But when the Town Guardian becomes stranded, it's up to Tala to make sure he gets back before winter.

Petrak founded The Garden Well, a microgame studio, back in late 2017 in order to bring the passion project to life.  The first Kickstarter campaign ended up being $5,000 under its goal, so Petrak is trying one more time to make this game a reality. Once the indie game has met its goal, the current plan is to release it in three chapters for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
