Tatsunoko vs. Capcom FightStick Impressions

January 26, 2010

Playing with the official Tatsunoko vs. Capcom FightStick by Mad Catz for a while now and I have to say I am enjoying it thoroughly. I have not found any problems with it yet other than some design choices. The first one being having the ‘start’ and ‘select’ buttons placed on the top of the FightStick and not the face. I could understand maybe there were some limitations or choosing to place them out of the way in case people didn’t want to accidentally press them? But other than that I can’t see why, and having to reach a bit further (I place the FightStick on the table) to press start is a bit tedious. The other design choice is the buttons are a bit too sensitive and soft. Sometimes I have my hands resting on the buttons and sometimes I don’t even realize I’m pressing buttons. The buttons get pressed down real easily and I don’t even realize it. The slightest bit of weight pushes it down. Other than that no real complaints so far. Seems like Mad Catz has really nailed it with this FightStick. Lookout for a full review of the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom FightStick soon.
