In the Ninja Gaiden series, players take control of a powerful shinobi who obliterates wave after wave of both human and non-human enemies and leaves only a tidal wave of blood behind him without ever asking a single question. Because of the way players are introduced to this perfectly grisly game-play, nobody ever stops to wonder if any of the humans have family, friends or lives that they care about.
Not that this would make much of difference considering they still tried to kill you and must therefore themselves be killed, but these are people and not just some demon fodder. They might be murderers, but they still have feelings.
Team Ninja has dropped the first developer diary for Ninja Gaiden 3 and in it, they explain how they’ll be humanizing not only the enemies, but Ryu himself and even the players. Hit the break to check it out. Ninja Gaiden 3 will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 this March.
