In an epic race and close top-spot competition between Subaru, Toyota, and Mercedes-AMG, Subaru's Kylian Drumont managed to win the Gran Turismo World Series 2022 Showdown Manufacturer's Cup and pass the finish line over 3 seconds earlier than his closest opponent, AMG's Lucas Bonelli.

The first day of Gran Turismo World Series 2022 Showdown came to an end last night, as we got to know the winner of the Manufacturer's Cup in an exciting race. Before the main race begins, the teams participated in the qualifying round to know their positions at the beginning of the race, and test out the track for best records.

While Team BMW's Erik Cases was holding the record for the fastest lap in the qualifying round for quite a long time, Mercedes-AMG's Baptiste Beauvois set a record of 1.47.298 and achieved the P1 spot for his fellow driver Lucas Bonelli for the final race. Team Subaru couldn't finish anywhere better than the 5th spot in the qualifying round, standing behind AMG, BMW, Volkswagen, and Chevrolet.

When the final race started, the top spot was traded numerous times between different teams, including BMW and Chevrolet drivers, while Toyota's Igor Fraga was at the 11th spot. However, as the race got closer to the final laps, Fraga showed off his incredible driving skills and occupied the top spot, though it was Team Subaru's Kylian Drumont that managed to claim the victory in the end after taking over the top spot from Toyota in lap 35.

Igor Fraga then lost the 2nd spot to AMG's Lucas Bonelli, and while Team Mazda was closely chasing down Fraga for the third spot, the Brazilian driver perfectly managed to secure his third-place finish in the race.

The exceptional work of Kylian Durmont was the fact that he managed to finish the race 3 seconds earlier than AMG's Lucas Bonelli and 15 seconds earlier than Toyota's Igor Fraga, and all this huge margin was built up by the French driver in the last 10 laps of the game.

The table below showcases the final placement for each team at the end of the race. Unfortunately, Team Porsche didn't manage to finish the race due to a steering-wheel malfunction.

With the Manufacturer's Cup over, now it's time for the Nations Cup, which will go live tonight at 9 pm CEST in Austria.
