An eagle-eyed Tears of the Kingdom fan has discovered a brand-new glitch that allows players to clone any item in the game with ease. Though it isn't anything groundbreaking, as fans have been tinkering with duplication glitches for a while now, this one is basically simpler and more practical than anything we've seen thus far.

Duplication glitches in Tears of the Kingdom (and Breath of the Wild) generally revolve around the art of multitasking. Players take advantage of moments when Link is busy with an action (such as holding out a bow or jumping or shield surfing), quickly access their inventory while the action is being carried out, and then drop an item from their inventory.

Essentially, the players expose the gaps in the game's timing to throw the inventory system into a state of confusion, as the game becomes unsure of what you have in your pockets versus what you just dropped by your legs, resulting in a strange outcome where you end up with a duplicate of the item you selected. And if you repeat the process while holding two or more items (maximum five items) they will all get duplicated as well.

This glitch is usually done with multiple bows. Fans would fuse an item with a bow, then quickly close and open the screen to confuse the game. However, getting the timing right with this technique is pretty hard to get used to. But TagBackTV's new glitch doesn't require bows at all. You just have to drop the items your link is holding while he's in mid-air and doing the animation of getting to ride his shield, and that's about it. When you pick them up again, they will appear doubled in your inventory.

Players have to note that the glitch only works on the latest updated version of Tears of the Kingdom (1.1.0 / 1.1.1), and secondly, the glitch mainly involves you staying in the air. So jumping into the air from higher ground or a low-gravity zone can increase the amount of time you can use to duplicate things. Smallant adds that you have to press Y and B simultaneously while dropping whatever you are holding for the duplication to get the effect.
