Tears of the Kingdom introduces many new abilities as well as some clever tweaks to previous abilities from Breath of the Wild. However, one notable omission from Link's arsenal is the absence of the Cryonis ability, which is known for its ice-platform-making capabilities. Fortunately, Youtuber 5en has a creative workaround that not only replicates the functionality of Cryonis but also improves upon its original design.

When you think about it, almost every ability from Breath of the Wild has found its way into Tears of the Kingdom in some form or another. Magnesis (an old ability that only affects the movement of metal objects) evolves into Ultrahand, allowing you to not only move things, but also glue them together. You can still throw bombs without needing a separate Remote Bomb ability, and you can even combine bombs with arrows to launch them over long distances.

Stasis isn't much of a problem either, considering most Zonai contraptions can float in mid-air, not to mention your new ability to rewind their movements. Even the Master Bike can be easily replicated with some DIY alternatives. The only ability that seems to be left without concrete alternatives is Cryonis.

The new technique demonstrated in the video simply requires you to grab some ice fruits and toss them into any lake or pond. While this may seem simple at first, the real brilliance lies in how the creator fuses the ice block with their weapon after creating it. With each swing, they create another ice platform seemingly out of thin air with little to no effort.

Even when the ice melts off the weapon, they can fuse one of the blocks they created to continue generating ice blocks endlessly. Not only is this an endless source of water platforms, but it's also much faster and more intuitive than constantly opening your abilities menu and selecting Cryonis, and it's all thanks to the new fuse mechanic and the limitless creativity it allows.

Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to get your hands on some Ice Fruits, and luckily our very own Karan has provided you with a special guide to finding them. Ice Fruits in particular seem to be found in the Gerudo Highlands and the Hebra Mountains (mostly on the left side of the map), and having a few will come in handy in many of the shrine puzzles and in the water-bound Zora domain.
