Dying Light and Dead Island developer Techland has provided new information about its yet-announced fantasy RPG via a new piece of concept art, which showcases a human holding onto a giant tree while overlooking a landscape filled with buildings and bridges. It reflects the mysterious game's exotic theme. No particular release window has been announced yet.

"Our newest game is set to be a narrative-driven fantasy epic with an exotic open world ready to be explored. We strive to create a compelling story-focused AAA title that combines and refines the best aspects of gameplay that Techland is known for." the studio provided a piece of information about the upcoming RPG via Twitter.

It is safe to assume that the game could be similar to Techland's infamous Dying Light series in some way, given the developers emphasized the 'best aspects' in the statement. It's possible that the gameplay could involve parkouring and exploring to make the player's time in this mysterious title even more enjoyable. Judging by the concept art, the fantasy RPG is set in an exotic world, which appears to be a departure from Techland's previous works.

The concept art also showcases a landscape littered with ruins. Animals lurk around the human on the giant tree, with a broken planet showing itself in the sky. From the looks of the concept art, the game takes place in a tropical area where players will take on fantastic beasts and mingle with the local population. Karolina Stachyra and Arkadiusz Borowick are attached to the project as narrative directors, and a few fantasy veterans who previously worked on The Witcher series are also involved with the development.

Although the studio is hard at work on a new title, Techland continues to support Dying Light 2 with further post-launch content. Many years ago, the studio was originally set to develop a sequel to one of its other hit zombie titles, Dead Island.

Now being developed by Dambuster Studios instead, Dead Island 2 is set for release late next month. In our Dead Island 2 hands-on preview, we said: "Dead Island 2 immediately strikes you with its gorgeous visuals and vibrant color palette. Even in a world filled with the undead, the streets and mansions of L.A really makes for a fun setting."
