Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has Alternate Costumes Contributed by Manga Creators

Namco has released some illustrations of some of the alternate costumes in their upcoming fighter Tekken Tag Tournament 2. These costumes were designed by various known manga authors. Alisa’s is fantastic! This wouldn’t be the first time Namco has contracted mangaka to create costumes for Tekken. I fondly remember Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto designing a costume for Lars in Tekken 6.

On a related note, those who’ve been following the game may remember this post which shows over one hundred pieces of art created for Tekken Tag 2. The pieces could be used to actually customize the character portraits at the character select screen. Namco confirmed on the Tekken Facebook page yesterday that this feature – and all of that glorious art – will be present in the console version of the game. Yay!

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be available on September 11th. The alternate costume illustrations can be viewed below. Their respective creators are as follows:

  • Jaycee: Mutsumi Inomata
  • Alisa: Shigeto Koyama
  • Miguel: Ryouji Minagawa
  • Anna: Ito Oogure
  • Heihachi: Simon Bisley
  • Kunimitsu: Katsuya Terada
