Tekken X Street Fighter is Still Happening

Remember Tekken X Street Fighter, the 3D fighter that would bring the Street Fighter characters into the Tekken universe? No one can blame you if you don’t, as next to nothing concrete regarding the project has been uttered since Street Fighter X Tekken came out last year. Tekken lead Katsuhiro Harada has today confirmed that Tekken X Street Fighter is still in development, saying:

“We will say first off that the game is still in development, so you don’t need to worry about that. There are several reasons why we haven’t released any updates. One of the reasons is, Street Fighter X Tekken was released. That still had updates until recently.

Harada also says that Street Fighter X Tekken won over a new group of fans who, up until that game released, had not played neither a Street Fighter or a Tekken game. I never would have thought! He finishes by explaining that his team will take their time developing Tekken X Street Fighter, while that cool new fanbase is busy enjoying Street Fighter X Tekken.

Of the two projects Tekken X Street Fighter was always the one I was most excited about. A rumor saying the game had been canned has been making the rounds for a while now, so I’m happy to know it is in fact still in development.
