Telltale Games Lifts the Veil on First Details for Game of Thrones
Winter is coming, and while the promises of death and destruction in the world of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones may not be on the horizon for us folk, luckily new details regarding the highly-anticipated adaptation from Telltale Games have finally been revealed.
Telltale Games detailed in a blog post on its website some of the first tidbits from the studio’s upcoming Game of Thrones episodic series, where players will embark on a multi-character journey taking players into the world of the popular HBO television series, itself inspired by George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels.
Specifically, Telltale mentioned that the episodic game, previously reported to span six episodes, will roughly correspond with the end of the TV series’ third season, and chronicle events leading up all the way to the show’s upcoming fifth season, and incorporate other elements from the novels not yet seen on the show.
In this case, Telltale’s title will focus on House Forrester, one of the houses mentioned in the fifth novel, A Dance with Dragons, but has not yet had much exposure or further details in either the books or television series, allowing Telltale to remain faithful to the lore while also getting to tell their own story through five playable characters.
Telltale concluded its details by revealing that Game of Thrones will release on PS4 and Xbox One, while also being available on other platforms such as PC, Mac, iOS, and also for the last-gen consoles – other platforms will be announced in the future.
Game of Thrones is currently in development by Telltale Games.
