Ten Years Ago, The Funniest MMORPG Meme Shouted its First Warcry: LEEEROY JEEENKINS!

No one ever managed to determine if it was a staged parody or a moment of actual craziness, but when ten years ago the video “A Rough Go” was first posted, it took the internet by storm.

The video featured a World of Warcraft guild preparing to enter the Rookery in Blackrock Spire, with the leader instructing his mates on a meticulous battle plan in order to help out paladin Leeroy in getting his Devout Shoulders.

Hilariously, Leeroy was AFK (away from the keyboard) during the explanation, and as soon as he returned, he just charged into the Rookery by himself shouting “LEEEROY JEEENKINS!”

His guild mates hesitated for a few seconds, before running to the rescue as the leader fruitlessly attempted to get them to stick to the plan, inevitably getting wiped by the numerous enemies.

Since then the video has become one of the most popular MMORPG memes, and its popularity has even been recognized by Blizzard in the game with a few cameos, while a dedicated card has been recently introduced in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

Below you can see a reposted version of the original video, with better resolution and audio. That way you can have a good laugh at the clumsiest paladin of the history of MMORPG. Be aware that the video includes a certain degree of inevitable profanity.
