Tesla Update Lets You Blast “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” Externally

Show your Witcher love by blasting the song from the Netflix series through your Tesla's external speakers.

Tesla, the car manufacturer that is well-known for its electric cars has a new Model Y up for order. Tesla vehicles arguably have a place in the video game community, probably because of the ability to allow stationary cars to play video games such as Atari games and even Stardew Valley. The Model Y is now available to order in North America, China, and parts of Europe. DualShockers’ co-founder, Joel Taveras has not only picked one up, but noticed an update at Christmas that lets you…blast out Toss a Coin to Your Witcher from the Netflix adaption.

Speaking with DualShockers staff last night, Joel explained that the Model Y got a software update at Christmas which enabled a “Boombox” feature, an external speaker that was fitted during production but not actually enabled. Whilst playing around with the new settings, some built-in sounds the Tesla can play are available to select from a dropdown menu. As you can see from the image below, “Toss a Coin” is available to use a driving sound.

Tesla Witcher song boombox feature settings

Joel shared a video on social media of his Tesla Model Y making use of this Boombox feature and, as you’re expecting, playing the famous Toss a Coin to Your Witcher track. The song first appeared in Netflix’s live-adaption of The Witcher when Dandelion sings of his and Geralt’s adventure. It quickly became a hit, rising up the charts when it became available on digital storefronts such as iTunes.

The song has seen over 2 million plays since it became available on Soundcloud — which launched there first before being available to purchase. The Witcher was one of Netflix’s biggest launches last year and also responsible for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt hitting an all-new concurrent player count on Steam.

The Tesla Model Y is a fully-electric car that has a roughly 326-mile range, a top speed of 135mph, and does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. It has Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and also Autopilot — a self-drive system. The Model Y is also available in two versions; Long Range, or Performance, with the latter being the more pricey one. The new Christmas software update for these vehicles will allow you to change the sounds of various functions to weird sounds, like a fart, or a goat.

And, let’s be honest, what’s better than blasting a quality banger of a song out on repeat as you drive down to the store?
