Tetsuya Nomura Comments on Kingdom Hearts III Leak

Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura and his team are going to release the ending to the game at a later date (likely with a day one patch).

Yesterday, we reported that some copies of Kingdom Hearts III had been circulating out in the wild. Many longtime fans of the series worried that this would lead to potential spoilers popping up online. Considering the last numbered entry in the Kingdom Hearts series launched in 2005 fans definitely have a justifiable reason for concern.

Tetsuya Nomura, the director of Kingdom Hearts III and the series as a whole has now commented on the situation, you can read his statement below from the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter:

We’re aware that a small portion of Kingdom Hearts III has been circulating online before its official release. We are also aware as to how this has all happened. We’re sorry to see this caused concern amongst our fans who are excited for the release.

The whole team has been working together since yesterday night (Japan time) to investigate what we can do to better this situation, but first we would like to ask that you do not share these videos.

The game’s epilogue and secret movie, which are the biggest spoilers in this game, are planned to be released at a later date just in case, so they will not be shown before the game’s release.

We want everyone to be able to equally experience the full game after its release, so we ask for your continued support on this matter.

We’re also very grateful that our fans have been warning each other already about the spoilers. Thank you very much.

We’re one month out from the release. Let’s enjoy the game together when it releases on January 29, 2019.

Based on the above quote, we can safely assume the last bit of the endgame will be released via a day one patch. Which should definitely please fans who’ve been waiting a very long time for this entry. Perhaps this is the first day one patch people will be excited about?

Now that you can finally rest a little bit easier knowing the last bit of the game won’t be spoiled, Square Enix released a new 30-second trailer that you can enjoy below. Kingdom Hearts III is launching on January 29, 2019, for PS4 and Xbox One.
