Sega announced today that it will be bringing Phantasy Star Online 2 to not only the PlayStation Vita but to iOS and Android smartphones as well. The mobile version will be called Phantasy Star Online 2 es.

This mobile version will feature quests to take alone that will require bosses to be faced and defeated in the deepest parts of dungeons. There are also simple touch controls in the game to fit the feel of a mobile game. While players will not be able to play directly with the PC and Vita version of the game, they will have the ability to level up their characters and transfer bonuses over to Phantasy Star Online 2.

While no details have been announced for a western release of Phantasy Star Online 2 es and a US release planned for 2013, it is difficult not to be excited over news about the game.
