Square-Enix's upcoming Parasite Eve-related sequel, The 3rd Birthday, may be getting some form of optional memory card install, just in case you want it to run a tad bit quicker. The game's director, Hajime Tabata, was talking the other day about the fact that they'll be offering the option to either full or partially install The 3rd Birthday data to a memory card.

There have been no details regarding the specifics, or if it will completely eliminate the need for the UMD. Needless to say, this is a pretty graphics-intensive title, so any little help with load times will probably be welcome to those of us hoping to dig into this title in the near future. Seems to be that Square-Enix games tend to have half-way-ridiculous load times on the PSP anyway, so this is a definite plus. I'm sure more details will come down the line as the game nears release.
