The official website and Twitter account of The Ancient Magus' Bride recently confirmed the show's second season release date: Thursday, April 6, 2023. In Japan, the new season will air on Tokyo MX at 10:00 PM. The series will also release on BS11, Hikari TV, and Amazon Prime Video for Japanese fans, while for international audiences (excluding Asia), Crunchyroll has licensed the series.

Season 2 of The Ancient Magus' Bride is animated by studio Kafka instead of Wit Studio, which animated the first season. The news was commemorated with an official trailer, released with English subtitles. The trailer introduced us to the main characters of the series, Chise and Elias Ainsworth, and also to some of the major side characters, like Lucy Webster, Rian Scrimgeour, Veronica Rickenbacker, Issac Fowler, and Zoe Ivy, who will be getting their first anime adaptation with the series' second season.

Alongside a new trailer, a new key visual was also released, portraying the characters of the series and confirming the release date and time of the upcoming season. Here's the new key visual you need to check.

The cast of the series includes Atsumi Tanezaki (Tome Kurata in Mob Psycho 100) as Chise Hatori, Ryota Takeuchi (Thomas in Attack on Titan), Koki Uchiyama (Rui in Demon Slayer) as Ruth, Aya Endo (Shoko Ieiri in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Silver. For the new characters introduced in the series, Minami Tsuda will voice Lucy Webster, Maki Kawase as Philomela Sergeant, Seiichiro Yamashita as Rian Scrimgeour, Daiki Kobayashi will cast as Zoe Ivy, Reina Ueda as Veronica Rickenbacker, and Kotaro Nishiyama will voice Isaac Farrar.

Season 2 of The Ancient Magus' Bride will cast Kohei Tokuoka as the chief animation director, with Seiki Tamura in the art director's seat. Yuko Kobani will handle the color design, with Mayo Suzuki by his side as the director of photography and Katsuaki Miyaji as the CGI director. Other people working on the project are Chiptune on special effects, Daisuke Imai on editing, Shoji Hata as sound director, Noriko Izumo on sound effects, and Don Juan on sound production.

After being rejected by society and her relatives, a young girl named Chise Hatori decides to sell herself at an auction in the hope of being brought by someone who treats her like a family. Chise is brought by a giant figure with demonic looks named Elias Ainsworth for five million pounds. He will either bring light into Chise's life, which she always seeks, or put her in the darkest shadows.
