The Controller for the Next Xbox 360 may be a Tablet

After seeing the Wii U and its classy if pricey touch screen tablet style controller, everyone is wondering what Microsoft and Sony will do with the controllers for their next-gen consoles. The designs will obviously have to bite the Wii U, similar to how both the PS Move and Kinect peripherals bit the original Wii. The newest issue of Xbox World houses several alleged details on the next Xbox. According to the report, Microsoft is well on their way with a controller that features a large, HD touch screen.

The report claims that this controller will be used in conjunction with the new Kinect to control the next Xbox. The controller also includes “traditional” Xbox controller components, including buttons, triggers and analog sticks. Furthermore, the next Xbox is supposedly matte black and the launch price point is expected to be at or around $525. Obviously this is a crap-ton of rumors and should be taken with plenty of salt, but if it’s true I’m interested to see whether or not the Microsoft controller/tablet will be better than Nintendo’s.
