Today at the Nintendo Direct, Netflix has announced a Dark Crystal game, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics, inspired by Netflix’s upcoming mini-series prequel to Jim Henson’s 1982 fantasy film, will arrive to the Nintendo Switch later this year.

According to the trailer shown, it looks like players control squads of units, which are all taken from the Dark Crystal’s 80's fantasy universe, making moves across a grid-based battlefield. It’s being developed by BonusXP, the same studio behind the Stranger Things tie-in games. Never did I think when I loved the movie as a child, would I also get to play it later on in life. Here's hoping it's at least a trip down memory lane.

While we wait for the game to receive a release date at some point this year (I hope), Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance prequel series will arrive on August 30 this year to tie fans over until it comes out.
