The Darkness 2 is Announced, and it's About Time

I’ve been waiting for this announcement for so long. I can’t think of a single other game on the current generation of consoles that I’ve been wanting a sequel to more than this one. 2K Games has finally announced The Darkness II, and I couldn’t be more excited right now.

The Darkness II picks up two years after the original game which saw mob hit man Jackie Estacado empowered with the titular Darkness and experience some really messed up stuff; one of the hardest hitting deaths in a video game that I’ve ever seen for one thing. Not much is known at this point other than the fact that somebody messed with Jackie when they really shouldn’t have and have reawakened the Darkness. The game will of course play on the light and dark mechanics of the original as well as combining traditional shooting with the awesome Darkness powers.

Hopefully we’ll have Mike Patton returning as the voice of the Darkness. I’d  also love to see the sequel pick up some of the things from the comic that haven’t been touched on yet (The Darkness armor, the Angelus, and maybe even the Witchblade?), and receives a bit more polish than the original did. 2K Games, I’m waiting patiently. Thank you.
