Ubisoft has released the official trailer of the brand new expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. It introduces a cinematic trailer that’s been captured using the game engine and introduces the new storyline.

Warlord of New York is the title of the new expansion that returns to New York City where the first game is set. However, this time a new biochemical attack lingers. A former Division agent, Aaron Keener has turned rogue and taken control of Manhattan and using other rogue agents to help him. Players are now on the hunt for him and first requires players to get through other rogue agents that populate the world.

Set during the late summer, players get to explore a brand-new open-world area in Lower Manhattan. This area has 4 new areas to explore; Two Bridges, Civic Center, Battery Park, and Financial District. The map is a 1:1 recreation of the area as revealed by Ubisoft producer, Nick Scurr.

The expansion not only brings a new storyline into play, but it also introduces a progression system as well as an extended endgame. “Seasons” is a new collection of endgame activities that offer a unique narrative, new objectives, and new rewards for players. Players can complete the expansion in either single-player or through co-operative means. It also “revitalises” the core experience by overhauling the RPG, Dark Zone, and Endgame mechanics in The Division 2.

Those wanting to jump in need to have the base game The Division 2. There’s also the option to create a level 30 character to allow the player to jump right into New York and start the new storyline. In addition, the level cap has been raised to level 40 as well as adding a new SHD Level for infinite progression.

The late summer setting certainly adds some color and difference to the game if the trailer is anything to go by. You can read more about the expansion here and you can check out our preview on it right here.

The Division 2 is available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia, the expansion is also available now.
