Huanlin Games, which was founded in 2016 and made up of two ex-2K Games China employees, has arrived into the gaming world with their very first title called The Dreamcatcher. In this surreal and compelling first-person adventure game, the player takes on the role of a young man who is just fresh out of college and ready to start his life until one night after a strange dream, he awakens to find that the life he once knew has now totally changed - his dreams and reality have become intertwined.

According to Huanlin Games, the core focus in The Dreamcatcher is its environmental storytelling mechanics as it tries to engage the player to explore the topics of dream and reality, human subconsciousness, and also love and relationships. What's also quite different is that the entire game doesn't have any kind of violence nor combat, which isn't a new concept by any means as we've seen in games like Abzu, Rime, Journey and many others, but refreshing all the same.

Players will find themselves partaking in some light puzzle situations in which you try and overcome obstacles in the dreams and explore many distinct dream worlds: The dreams of the main character shift in various tones.

Although there is no immediate release date announced, Huanlin Games have stated that players can expect The Dreamcatcher on Steam very soon.

In the meanwhile, you can check out the trailer for The Dreamcatcher below as well as some screenshots and keep up to date with all updates over on their Steam page.
