The Elder Scrolls series has been around for a long time, and while many players got into this franchise with Oblivion and Skyrim, there are those rare RPG veterans who had played Morrowind and Daggerfall as well. Hopefully, we have some good news for Daggerfall fans as it has received a brand new version on GOG!

First of all, let's make it clear that it is not an official enhanced version of Daggerfall, but it actually has nothing short of an official remaster!

Brought to life by GamerZakh, a content creator on YouTube and a modder, the enhanced version of Daggerfall on GOG uses a wide variety of mods to make the game look and play better.

Daggerfall "Unity" Is Free on GOG With Enhanced Visuals and Better Controls

While the gameplay core and content stay the same, this mod significantly enhances the visuals, making the characters and world look much better by increasing the resolution of textures and using new textures in some cases.

Also, the modders have made some minor changes in a number of areas just to make the environment look better for newcomers and those who have not played Daggerfall so far. The footage above showcases various locations and mechanics of the game improved using mods.

If you have to spend a lot of time on Skyrim or other The Elder Scrolls titles, it is definitely worth it to give a shot to this Daggerfall remaster on GOG as it is available for free. You don't even need to own the original game. You can just download the complete package for free and begin your adventure in Daggerfall.

Unfortunately, Daggerfall "Unity" is not available for consoles, but you don't need a powerful PC to run it as it is a well-optimized modded version of the original game.
