The Escalation Map Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops Takes Us to the Zoo

By now, I’m sure that you’ve heard about the upcoming second map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops titled Escalation which will first be available for Xbox 360 on May 3rd. A trailer and a handful of screenshots have been released that go behind-the-scenes with Treyarch’s Dan Bunting (Online Director), Jimmy Zielinsky (Creative Lead/Zombies), Phillip Tasker (Level Designer) and Paul Mason Firth (Level Designer) as they talk about the new multiplayer maps and some of the highlights from each level.

The M.O. is the same; four multiplayer maps and one zombie level. Zoo is map that takes place in an old abandoned Soviet zoo with a monorail that gives a perfect vantage point against your enemies on the ground. Convoy is perfect for snipers, as it takes place on a long stretch of a highway. It looks like there is a tipped over mobile home that you can climb into from one of the screenshoots. Hotel is exactly what it sounds like; a hotel with a pool, hot tub and bar with lots and lots of slot machines. You can even take an elevator ride to the roof from what it sounds like. Stockpile takes place in a Suburban village in Russia where there is one building in particular (the middle building) which has operational garage doors. Sounds like the Escalation map pack will give Black Ops players quite the set of variety and countless hours of entertainment.
