The Evil Within 2 is nearly upon us and to wet our beaks just a bit more before Friday, Bethesda Softworks released a new launch trailer for the third-person horror title earlier this morning.

This new trailer is perhaps the best one for those who might be unfamiliar with the premise of The Evil Within 2. In this video, we the see Detective Sebastian Castellanos, the protagonist from the first game, now on the hunt to get back his thought-to-be dead daughter, Lily.

We are also introduced to a handful of the supporting characters that Sebastian will meet on his journey, along with seeing some rather vicious combat sequences against some disgusting looking monsters. The Evil Within 2 seems to have upped the ante when it comes to combat and some of the visuals that we briefly see in this trailer express as much.

We’re currently in the process of reviewing The Evil Within 2 and hope to have our review up sometime within the next week. If you would like to read some impressions now though, feel free to check out our recent preview of the game from only a few weeks back.

You can check out today’s launch trailer at the bottom of the page to tide you over until release. Appropriately, The Evil Within 2 is out on Friday October 13th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
