The Evil Within’s Shinji Mikami Looks to be Revealing a New Game Today
Is this going to be The Evil Within 3 or something else?
Out of all of the publishers that have press conferences at E3 this year, Bethesda is likely the one that we don’t know what to expect from the most. While there are a few games that seem likely to appear, for the most part, Bethesda has kept any potential surprises under wraps. That is, until now.
In a new tweet from Shinji Mikami, the CEO of Tango Gameworks, the legendary developer teased that he will today be involved in an E3 conference. “All rehearsals are over. Tomorrow is the real thing!” Mikami tweeted out late last night.
Because Tango is a studio owned by Bethesda, Mikami will almost certainly be appearing during the publisher’s briefing, which is slated to take place later this evening. However, the bigger question at play is just what will Mikami be revealing? The easy answer would be that of The Evil Within 3. The last entry in the series, The Evil Within 2, launched back in 2017 though so a two-year turnaround for a third installment (assuming it would launch this year) might be a bit fast.
Another likelihood is that this potential announcement could be a spin-off within The Evil Within series. Bethesda’s studios are synonymous with creating spin-off entries of larger franchises that they work within. Some recent examples of this would include Wolfenstein: Youngblood or Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.
There’s also a chance though that whatever Mikami is going to show off won’t be associated with The Evil Within whatsoever and could be that of a new IP. There are a lot of possibilities at play here but I still believe that this reveal will be related to The Evil Within. That’s just my own personal conjecture, though.
Regardless of what will be shown here, we’ve only got a few more hours until we learn for certain what it will be. Stay tuned later tonight to hear more on this and everything else that will be unveiled by Bethesda.
All rehearsals are over.
