Horror fans will be looking forward to the arrival of The Evil Within for its sharp focus on survival horror, and luckily those that were looking for a good fright this October will be able to get their fix a week earlier than expected.

Publisher Bethesda Softworks announced during this weekend’s QuakeCon that The Evil Within has now been bumped up one week from its previous release date, with the game now expected to launch on October 14th, 2014, with Bethesda’s Pete Hines announcing:

“Shinji asked us for a little extra time with the game, but we’re really happy with it. It’s ready a week early, so we’re releasing it a week early.”

The Evil Within will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 14th, 2014.
