Release Date for The Forest on PlayStation 4 Announced

Developer Endnight Games has announced they will be launching The Forest on PlayStation 4 on November 6, 2018. This survival game puts players in the role of a father searching for his missing son after you both survive a passenger plane crash.

As usual with survival genre games you will have to find food and water to stay alive as well as discover the many secrets in the world. Endnight Games wants to allow players to do whatever they desire, whether its focusing on combat or base building, in order to survive. Nearly everything in the game is interactable and usable for crafting. While combat is something you can avoid through stealth you are also able to play the game in peaceful mode that fully removes combat.

Enemies will at first appear to be human-like but become more grotesque as time goes on. Caves hold both the worst creatures and the best weapons and tools. You can even play cooperatively with three other players online, with Endnight Games stating it is now the best way to play The Forest. You can also check out the game for yourself if you are attending PAX West this weekend in Seattle, Washington.

The Forest was an early access game for about four years before finally releasing 1.0 earlier this year. You can check out some gameplay for both the single player here and cooperative mode here.
