Today, during a livestream on Nico Nico hosted by the Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Sony Interactive Entertainment introduced about nine minutes of gameplay of the upcoming PS4 exclusive The Last Guardian.
SIE Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida and PR Yasuhiro Kitao presented the video, showcasing a really majestic level and quite a bit of clever puzzle-platforming. It also shown what happens when you fail badly enough for the boy to take a big fall without actually being killed.
As usual, keep in mind that this is recorded from Nico Nico, so the quality isn’t top notch. As a matter of fact, due to the nature of the Japanese livestreaming service, compression and resolution are quite bad.
As an additional bonus, we also get to see the beautiful statue reproducing Trico and the boy coming with the Collector’s Edition.
The Last Guardian will release in North America on December 6th, exclusively for PS4, and without further ado, I leave you with the video.
Update: a second recording from the YouTube version of the livestream has been added. Resolution and compression are better, but there is a rather annoying interlacing effect, so it’s a bit of a trade-off. Both versions can now be found below, alongside the full recording of the show at the bottom of the post.
